Swiss photographer couple Mathias Braschler and Monika Fischer were the guests at this exhibition: large-format works on identity, personality, emotion. Whether faces of soccer, of a country (China, USA), or on topics such as climate change and racism—the photographic series of Braschler and Fischer always depict people in an environment they can identify with.

Mathias Braschler and Monika Fischer travel the whole world and take photographs of humans in their surroundings and in certain situations; they are able to perceive, in staged photography, people in their identity and to give them the feeling that they are truly pictorialized exactly the way they are. One still even finds this illustration of individuality when Braschler painted people of all skin colors white, except for their eyes.

Mathias Braschler was born in Aargau, Switzerland, in 1969; he began his career as a self-taught photographer in 1994.  He was working for various magazines and newspapers in Switzerland when he moved to New York in 1998, in order to produce his first book Madison Avenue.  Monika Fischer was born in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley, Switzerland, in 1971. Besides the successful collaboration with Mathias Braschler, Monika Fischer completed postgraduate studies in scenography at Zurich University of the Arts between 2003 and 2005.

The 56 large-format works were accompanied by a catalog.
