During the guided tour “museum gugging – zum Kennenlernen! getting to know museum gugging!”, the history of the site is presented, tracing its development from a psychiatric hospital to a museum, and explaining the uniqueness of Art Brut and its great fascination for other artists.
The museum gugging is not only a platform for artists from Gugging, but also a forum for international Art Brut and contemporary art. The museum sees itself as a dynamic place where visions by self-taught artists are realized with openness and creativity. These artistic paths are autonomous and uninfluenced by society or current trends. Highlighting this individual approach of Art Brut and Naïve Art is particularly striking and inspires many other artists and visitors to develop their own creativity.
Enjoy an active, dialogue-oriented guided tour.

As a team-building event or based on a shared interest, our workshop offers time and space to get creative again.
This two-hour allows participants to try out the techniques of the Gugging Artists. These include drawing with ink like Johann Garber, drawing on top of newspaper clippings like Leopold Strobel or experimenting with the collage technique often used as a means of expression in Art Brut. The art education team will present techniques and materials to try out and use to create your own ideas.
