The art historian and doctor Hans Prinzhorn collected art which gave him an impression of “expressions of an own experience”. He discovered the works between 1919 and 1921. The Prinzhorn Collection in Heidelberg includes a diverse range of artistic positions. The red thread between them, however, which connects them on a fundamental level, is the underlying realities of human existence: emotions and experiences. Exhibition visitors can learn about the backgrounds of the artists and delve into their fantastic worlds.
