Since the 1960s the term “minimal art” has been used to describe highly reduced images and sculptures. It is an art in itself to conjure new pictorial worlds with as few means and strokes as possible. In Gugging there were and are several virtuosi of reduction – such as Oswald Tschirtner, who master(ed) this art form like hardly any others. We follow the traces of minimal art and try to make more from less.
