Art that comes from psychiatry. Two institutions in German-speaking countries stand for this: the Prinzhorn Collection and Gugging. The historical Prinzhorn Collection has its own history, which goes back to the interest and commitment of the psychiatrist Hans Prinzhorn. The fact that the group of artists emerged from Gugging was made possible by the commitment of psychiatrist Leo Navratil and his successor Johann Feilacher, who discovered the extraordinary talent of some patients. Both the Prinzhorn Collection and the artists from Gugging fascinated and inspired the artistic avant-garde to this day. Thomas Röske and Johann Feilacher talk about their research and personal experiences.
