Greifenstein – Arm of the Danube and Power Plant

The Greifenstein arm of the Danube, which was formed due to the construction of the run-of-river power plant in the immediate vicinity, is a splendid bathing location. The natural waters are frequented by young and old, and also many dog owners go there for a refreshing dip. There are also numerous snackbars and restaurants for ample food and drink. You can cross the Danube River on foot or bike on the top of the dam. Watching the boats, big or small, passing through the locks is an additional attraction for the tech savvy. The best way from Gugging to Greifenstein is via Hadersfeld.
